Job Title

This role involves working in a general surgery ward, specialising in orthopaedics, ENT, and vascular.

Responsibilities
  • Greet patients and other customers.
  • Liaise with nursing staff to provide accurate information to relatives regarding timeframes/wait times.
  • Prepare patient files and coordinate with other ward clerks to obtain patient files.
  • Filing of medical records and distribution of discharge summaries, x-ray and pathology results.
  • Provide clerical support to Nursing Unit Manager and nursing staff.
  • Liaison with allied health, ward staff and other hospital departments when required to facilitate patient treatments or transfers.
  • Cultivate a hospitable and friendly environment for all patients.
  • Work as an active team member to support all work tasks.
Key Skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Highly developed organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
