Role Purpose:

Assist the Construction Director in managing the Construction department. Collaborate closely with the Construction Director to lead the team. Oversee the Area Construction Managers and monitor progress according to the project timeline and budgetary constraints. Develop project management strategies, coordinate with various project departments, assess risks, maintain production timelines, establish standards and objectives for different teams, and supervise operations to ensure optimal efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline
  • White Card

Experience:

  • 11 years of experience in the Construction Industry in a comparable position
  • Experience with large-scale construction initiatives or similar projects
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Comprehensive understanding of project operations

Core Responsibilities:

  • Establish standards and objectives for departments
  • Optimize and oversee operations to ensure cost efficiency
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and operational guidelines
  • Evaluate performance using key performance indicators
  • Assist senior management in decision-making processes
  • Report to senior executives on progress and challenges
  • Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and local compliance matters
  • Stay informed about applicable codes and standards for projects
  • Manage multiple activities and coordinate groups to achieve maximum efficiency
  • Develop and sustain business relationships with stakeholders, including workers, manufacturers, and subcontractors
  • Identify and address any industrial relations or employee relations issues, escalating serious matters to the Construction Manager as necessary
  • Foster a culture of teamwork to ensure site teams collaborate effectively
  • Guide direct reports to perform their roles competently and hold them accountable for project performance metrics
