Job Description

Webuild S.p.A. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Construction Director to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Construction Director in leading the Construction department and ensuring the successful delivery of our projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Construction Director in leading the Construction department and ensuring the successful delivery of projects.
  • Coordinate the Area Construction Managers and track works as per project schedule and allocated budget.
  • Generate project management plans, coordinate with project departments, calculate risks, maintain production schedules, set standards and objectives for different departments, and oversee operations to ensure efficiency.
  • Evaluate performance using key metrics and assist upper management in decisions related to work.
  • Report to senior executives regarding progress and issues.
  • Maintain knowledge in federal, state, and local compliance issues and maintain working knowledge of applicable codes and standards for a project.
  • Develop and maintain business relationships with workers, manufacturers, dealers, project managers, equipment managers, and subcontractors.
  • Identify and resolve any IR/ER issues and escalate serious issues to the Construction Manager and IR Manager in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Develop teamwork culture so that the site teams cooperate well with each other and integrate effectively with the wider project teams.
  • Manage direct reports to be competent to perform their roles effectively and hold them accountable to Project performance measures.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • White Card.
  • 11 years' experience working in the Construction Industry in a similar role.
  • Experience working on large-scale construction projects or other similar projects.
  • Problem-solving abilities.
  • Sound knowledge of project operations.
  • Knowledge of performance evaluation.
  • Understanding of optimization of operations & standards.
  • Exceptional communication & interpersonal abilities.
  • Problem-solving attitude & abilities.
  • Ability to supervise team members, work closely with safety and other departments to control and maintain project safety standards.
  • Demonstrate a positive 'can-do' attitude.
  • Ability to lead and manage teams.
  • Sound knowledge of civil construction materials/service.
  • Sound knowledge of local WHS standards and regulations.
  • Process-oriented, able to analyze complex issues.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across different levels.
  • Sound interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and targets and prioritize tasks under pressure.
  • Sound negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong initiative and proactive nature.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Well-developed time management skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Competent and proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and Word.
  • Ability to learn and use different software systems such as E7.
