About the Role

The Compliance, Governance and Risk Manager role is a critical position within Mai-Wel, responsible for leading the team and ensuring the corporate governance, risk, and assurance functions meet requirements in accordance with internal and external regulatory frameworks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the suite of corporate registers, including risk, policy, legal, and other contracts.
  • Manage and coordinate insurance policy renewal and claims to support organisational needs.
  • Develop and implement an internal audit schedule.
  • Action constitutional requirements for members and directors.
  • Maintain a corporate governance calendar, proactively planning actions to meet required timeframes.
  • Ensure the organisation adheres to all corporate governance registrations, standards, and frameworks.
About You

We are seeking a motivated and experienced finance professional with a proactive mindset, solutions-focused, and outcomes-driven. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Business, Law, Legal, Justice, Human Resources, Management, Finance, or a related area, and/or relevant experience in a similar role.

  • Proven experience developing and implementing an internal audit schedule.
  • Understanding of constitutional requirements.
  • Ability to provide strategic and operational leadership, direction, and advice to the organisation on the delivery of effective frameworks and systems to support good governance and organisational performance management.
  • Oversee the implementation and review of governance and risk management policies and procedures.
  • Lead and embed a positive risk management culture and practices across the organisation.
  • Review and identify areas for improvement and implement best practice governance processes.
  • Excellent working skills using the MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication skills.
