Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Mechanical Supervisor to join our team in Maitland, NSW. As a key member of our operations team, you will oversee the overhaul, refurbishment, repair, and maintenance of customer equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead and manage departmental personnel, ensuring efficient operations and high-quality outcomes.
  2. Maintain and enhance customer relationships, gathering and sharing feedback with sales and management.
  3. Assist the Works Manager with recruitment, training, development, performance management, discipline, motivation, and safe working practices of department personnel.
  4. Identify training needs and ensure department personnel are up-to-date with all Work Instructions.
  5. Document jobs to ensure health and safety compliance and quality assurance.
  6. Quote and estimate jobs as designated by the Works Manager.
  7. Understand departmental workflow and collaborate with personnel on job scheduling and resource allocation to achieve maximum efficiency and economy.
  8. Control job flow through the department, including scheduling, setting priorities, providing progress updates, and maintaining productivity.
  9. Attend meetings and actively contribute to business development.
  10. Revise department job schedules according to work order specifications, established priorities, and the availability and capability of workers, parts, materials, machines, and equipment.
Requirements
  • CERT III in Mechanical or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in the repair and overhaul of gas and/or steam turbines.
  • Knowledge of processes and procedures for mechanical plant repairs.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • High level of attention to detail.
