The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to teaching excellence, develop a nationally recognized research program, and contribute to the institution and profession through service. A Ph.D. in Biomedical Science or a closely related field is required for consideration.
Our faculty are actively engaged in diverse research areas, including Cell and Molecular Biology, Genomics and Molecular Genetics, Biochemistry, and Biotechnology. Recent investments have enhanced engineering and science research infrastructure, supporting updates to research facilities and the acquisition of advanced equipment.
The newly constructed Gordon L. Nelson Health Sciences Building serves as the official home for the BES department, providing faculty with access to state-of-the-art equipment essential for molecular biology techniques. We collaborate closely with the Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine, offering a pre-medical pathway for Florida Tech students.
Information about the Department of Biomedical Engineering and Science can be found on our website. The Department has 16 faculty members representing diverse fields, including cell and molecular biology, cardiovascular and neurodegenerative diseases, epigenetics, bioinstrumentation, biomechanics, and health digital twins.
The successful candidate will earn an estimated salary between $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. Additional benefits include a comprehensive package, including health insurance, retirement savings, and paid time off.
