Animal Welfare and Biosecurity Initiative
We are seeking an experienced professional to drive our animal welfare and biosecurity strategies forward. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring policies and procedures that ensure the highest standards of animal care and biosecurity.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of animal welfare regulations and protocols, as well as excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. They will be able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and drive initiatives forward.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing animal welfare policies and procedures in accordance with industry standards and regulations
- Conducting regular inspections and audits of animal welfare practices across all facilities
- Designing and implementing biosecurity standards, policies and procedures to safeguard livestock from diseases and external threats
- Collaborating with key stakeholders to integrate animal welfare and biosecurity practices into daily operations
- Managing and identifying risks to animal welfare and biosecurity
- Providing training and guidance to staff members on animal welfare and biosecurity best practices
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Animal Science or related field, minimum 5 years of experience in compliance or quality assurance, and lead auditor certification. A commitment to driving best practice and developing a positive animal welfare and biosecurity culture business-wide is essential.
