Support Worker Job Description

As a support worker, you will be part of a dynamic team that delivers outreach support to young people in need.

Our organization works collaboratively with other youth support services to provide an intensive and long-term support program for vulnerable individuals. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting assessments and creating personalized support plans for clients.
  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with clients, colleagues, and external partners.
  • Providing specialist advice and coaching to team members, including mentoring and knowledge sharing.
  • Completing administrative tasks efficiently and identifying opportunities for service improvement.

Requirements for Success:

  1. Previous experience working with youth who are homeless or vulnerable.
  2. Relevant degree or associate diploma, with at least one year's experience, or less formal qualification with significant relevant experience.
  3. Demonstrated ability to provide complex therapeutic interventions and manage a caseload of clients with complex needs.
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including administrative skills, and the ability to provide support to management on a complex nature.
  5. A person-centered approach with a strong belief in everyone's capacity for self-growth and development.
  6. CURRENT NSW Driver's License and COVID Vaccination is mandatory.
