Job Overview:
Deliver High-Quality Support ServicesAs a Support Professional, you will work collaboratively with young people to provide client-focused support and services.
You will assist individuals in developing and maintaining relationships that facilitate independence.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Assisting individuals to improve their daily living skills through guidance and supervision
- Mentoring and acting as role models for individuals in building positive social skills
- Encouraging and educating individuals on healthy living habits to support emotional well-being
- Encouraging the growth of self-esteem, self-worth, and self-confidence in individuals
Requirements:
- Minimum of Cert IV in Mental Health, Community Services or other related discipline (ideally a completed Diploma or Bachelors)
- Experience in working with young people experiencing mental health issues
- Demonstrated capacity to relate to individuals and their families/carers with dignity and respect
- Ability to assess risk and follow relevant protocols to manage crisis situations calmly and effectively
- Demonstrated and effective listening and communication skills in both written and verbal formats
- Understanding of and commitment to the principles of duty of care, and rights to privacy and confidentiality
- Ability to help program participants link in with other relevant community resources
- Must be available for overnight shifts
- Must be available to work a rotating 24/7 roster
- Must be eligible to apply/currently hold a Blue Card
- Current Driver's license
