Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Laboratory Manager to lead our Melbourne laboratory. As part of our team, you will oversee daily operations in the laboratory, coordinate testing requirements for clients, and mentor staff to develop their testing skills.

You will evaluate data integrity, ensure adherence to quality systems, and collaborate with the QA Manager to meet NATA requirements. Additionally, you will prepare client details, project requirements, and submit testing schedules using our electronic log management system.

Your responsibilities will include managing safe working conditions, ensuring proper PPE gear is used, overseeing sampling, testing, and reporting according to specifications and test methods, generating test reports and invoices, and reviewing and approving test reports before issuance to clients.

You will also manage the maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment and lead staff to achieve operational, technical, and WHS quality standards, increase competence, and improve performance.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience in testing soils, aggregates, and concrete to Australian and Vic Roads standards;
  • Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques or higher qualification;
  • Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 requirements;
  • Understanding of WHS compliance and responsibilities;
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills through research, analysis, and evaluation;
  • Australian Driver's license;
  • Current or eligible Nuclear gauge license.
