Lead Medical Laboratory Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Laboratory Manager to oversee our regional laboratory in Wangaratta.
This is a managerial position that involves supervising a team of laboratory scientists in a multi-disciplinary setting, prioritizing workflow to meet client requirements, ensuring results are released with acceptable turn-around times, liaising with senior staff and pathologists regarding unusual and abnormal results, maintaining laboratory equipment, and reviewing and updating laboratory documentation.
About the Role
This role requires a high level of expertise, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for leading a team of laboratory scientists, providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality results.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise a team of 4 laboratory scientists in a multi-disciplinary setting.
- Prioritize workflow to meet client requirements.
- Ensure results are released with acceptable turn-around times.
- Liaise with senior staff and pathologists regarding unusual and abnormal results.
- Maintain laboratory equipment in optimal condition.
- Review and update laboratory documentation as required.
About You
To be considered for this role, you should possess:
- A tertiary degree in medical laboratory science or equivalent.
- Experience in a multi-disciplinary environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build meaningful partnerships.
- Results-oriented and proactive problem-solving abilities.
- Proven skills in defining, prioritizing, and organizing competing tasks to meet deadlines.
- The ability to demonstrate high levels of confidentiality and integrity at all times.
