Salary and Benefits

Job Description

The primary purpose of this position is to engage, support and provide guidance to Australian Apprentices and Employers, primarily in the workplace, to improve the retention rate of Australian Apprentices overall. As a Workplace Mentor Lead, you will be required to engage with employers and apprentices who may be experiencing difficulties with the apprenticeship relationship, and other relevant stakeholders who require assistance.

This role involves regular and daily travel to successfully support all relevant stakeholders. The successful candidate will have the ability to build and sustain relationships with key stakeholders, gain their confidence and build a sense of mutual understanding of needs and objectives.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Qualifications or currently studying either social work, counselling or psychology;
  • Formal studies in the area of coaching or mentoring;
  • In the absence of existing suitable qualifications, prepared to undertake a Diploma of Counselling or similar within the first year of employment;
  • Experience in social sciences, behavioural sciences, youth work or a discipline relevant to community development and services;
  • Proven experience in leading, motivating and communicating with a broad range of groups and individuals;
  • Ability to obtain a Working With Children Check and National Police Check;
