Chief Estimator Position

The ideal candidate will oversee a subgroup of estimators, ensuring continuity with current clients and acquisition of new contracts.

  • Partner with regional General Managers to support sales targets and utilize estimating resources effectively.
  • Develop proposals from request for proposal to proposal submittal.
  • Conduct conceptual estimates for preconstruction efforts and client engagement.
  • Utilize prior experience in self-performance work to favorably position the business.
  • Oversee structural steel, equipment setting, and piping installation work self-perform estimating.
  • Evaluate labor strategies, installation schemes, proposal schedules, and commercial terms.
  • Review estimates to ensure productivities align with historical information, market conditions, and scope specifics.
  • Improve estimating templates, conceptual estimating models, and self-perform estimating sheets.
  • Provide expertise in problem solving, operational, and marketing challenges.

Requirements:

  • Leadership disposition, desire to improve/build systems, and passion to grow people.
  • 10+ years of work experience in industrial construction, involving proposal development or project execution in a self-perform environment.
  • Familiarity with guaranteed maximum and lump sum competitive bid environments.
  • Rigor and discipline with good attention to detail.
  • Strong written and communication skills.
  • Microsoft Suite software skills.
