We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineering Lead to join our team at Babcock International Group. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced electrical engineer to take on a leadership role and contribute to the success of our Defence programs.

About the Role

The Electrical Engineering Team Lead will be responsible for leading a team of engineers and overseeing the delivery of electrical engineering activities. You will work closely with the Program Engineering Manager (PEM) and other team leads to provide effective leadership and guidance. Your expertise will be essential in managing product safety, conducting technical risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations throughout the engineering lifecycle.

Responsibilities
  • Lead technical investigations and make decisions based on sound engineering judgment;
  • Oversee the delivery of electrical engineering activities and ensure timely completion within budget;
  • Nurture and develop your team, enhancing capability within the Hunter program and the broader engineering division;
  • Drive the production of technical documentation, maintain secure records, and present technical information to internal and external stakeholders;
Requirements
  • Australian Citizenship and a Defence Security Clearance (or the ability to obtain);
  • An accredited (under the Washington Accord) Bachelor's degree in Engineering;
  • Relevant experience in relatable technical/engineering roles;
  • Previous team management experience;
  • A strong understanding of the design lifecycle and system integration;
  • Experience with managing supplier and sub-contractor specifications (desired);
  • A good understanding of applicable engineering toolsets (e.g., PLM or MRP systems, design, simulation, and analysis software).
