Job Description

The ESG Project Manager will play a pivotal role in delivering independent assurance of GHG/ESG information to multinational clients across diverse sectors.

  • Engagement Delivery: Plan, execute, and deliver a range of climate, sustainability, and ESG assurance engagements globally, adhering to relevant assurance standards (ISAE 3000) and methodologies.
  • Project Coordination: Manage project planning and budgeting, update internal tracking tools, forecasts, and invoice multiple complex projects.
  • Client Interaction: Lead presentations in all client interactions within a project.
  • Business Development: Contribute to the team's success by building and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Team Support: Recruit, mentor, and support the development of project team members and direct reports.
Required Skills and Qualifications

A degree-level education in a field related to sustainability, engineering, business, or audit is essential. Professional experience of 5-6 years, preferably in the professional services industry, is also required.

  • Expertise in project management, handling multiple clients simultaneously, and ensuring timely delivery.
  • Strong understanding of assurance standards (ISAE 3000, ISSA 5000, ISO 14064-3), assurance assertions (completeness, existence, accuracy), and audit procedures.
  • Broad knowledge of sustainability and ESG topics, including GHG emissions, waste, biodiversity, health and safety, EDI, supply chain, governance, and others.
  • Familiarity with sustainability and GHG reporting frameworks, such as the GHG Protocol (Corporate Standard plus Scope 3 Guidance), ASRS S1 and S2, GRI, TCFD, SASB, and others.
  • Experience with Australian regulatory reporting obligations, such as the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Scheme (NGERs), Clean Energy Regulatory Safeguard Mechanism, Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards (ASRS) S1 and S2, and ASIC Climate Guidance.
  • Knowledge of sustainable finance services, including Second Party Opinions (SPOs) and Sustainability-linked Loans (SLL), with context around sustainability finance frameworks like the Green Loan Principles, Green Bond Principles, and Climate Bond Standard.
  • Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and contribute enthusiastically to our growing business.
  • Self-motivation and willingness to work as part of a team.
