Senior Software Engineer (Observability) - Key Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our Observability Traces and Exceptions Team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in building and improving observability platforms and tooling, as well as providing technical leadership and expertise.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop cutting-edge observability solutions to enhance the reliability and availability of our services.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive pragmatic solutions and achieve impactful design decisions.
  • Brainstorm, research, and prototype innovative solutions to optimize our tracing and exceptions platforms.
  • Provide expert guidance on best practices for observability, tracing, and exception handling.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve our observability capabilities.
Requirements:
  • Proficiency in Python, Java, or Golang programming languages.
  • Deep knowledge of computer engineering fundamentals and first principles.
  • Experience with AWS (EC2, EKS, Lambda, SQS, Kinesis, S3) or equivalent cloud platforms.
  • Deploying and running containerized workloads on Kubernetes.
  • Competency with observability tooling such as Elasticsearch, Grafana, Sentry, Jaeger Tracing, or similar.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code using Terraform or other IaC tools.
  • OpenTelemetry expertise is a plus, but not essential.
