**Job Overview:**

This position involves the performance of scheduled observations and station maintenance at Sydney Airport Observing Office. As a Technical Officer, you will be responsible for instrument and routine maintenance, quality assurance of observations, and oversight of Regional AIFS quality control.

  • Perform meteorological aviation and synoptic observations with skills, knowledge, and competency.
  • Maintain a sound knowledge of surface and upper air observations and related equipment.
  • Collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Communicate and liaise with colleagues and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute scheduled observations and station maintenance tasks
  • Ensure high-quality instrument and routine maintenance
  • Conduct quality assurance checks on observations
  • Oversight of Regional AIFS quality control processes
Requirements:
  1. Hold relevant qualifications and certifications
  2. Demonstrate expertise in meteorological aviation and synoptic observations
  3. Have a strong understanding of surface and upper air observations equipment
  4. Exhibit excellent collaboration and communication skills
