Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Theatre Technician to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in live theatre or event production, with understanding or experience of audio systems, lighting systems, and fly systems.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is proactive, self-motivated, and able to work autonomously and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate in-house systems and equipment; support production crews in the use of lighting, sound, vision, and multimedia equipment.
  • Drive a safe work environment by adhering to health and safety protocols.
  • Design and operate audio systems and lighting systems to meet the needs of various productions and events.
  • Collaborate with hirers to deliver key objectives and manage technical operations of their productions and other events.
  • Support other productions and events requiring technical supervision and operation.
Requirements
  • A willingness to work a roster around weekdays and weekends.
  • Experience working in a theatre or live entertainment environment.
  • Operational skills and knowledge of lighting desks and basic understanding of lighting systems.
  • Operational skills and knowledge of audio desks in a live environment and basic understanding of audio systems. Familiarity with Yamaha Audio and Hog 4 Lighting consoles is highly regarded.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated understanding of work health and safety principles in a theatrical environment.
Benefits

This role offers a competitive salary range of $52,000 - $65,000 per annum, paid in Australian dollars.
