Whitehaven Coal is seeking a Payroll Coordinator to support the payroll function by managing payroll-related data, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and assisting with compliance and reporting.

This role requires close collaboration with the payroll processing team to ensure that all payroll activities are completed accurately and efficiently.

The successful candidate will maintain and update payroll-related records, assist in the preparation and maintenance of payroll spreadsheets, reports, and databases, and serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries regarding payroll, leave, and timesheets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and update payroll-related records, including employee personal information and roster schedules.
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of payroll spreadsheets, reports, and databases.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries regarding payroll, leave, and timesheets.
  • Provide support to employees in understanding their payslip, deductions, and leave.
  • Facilitate the resolution of payroll-related issues by liaising with the payroll processing team or HR department as needed.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in a payroll or related administrative role, preferably within the mining or industrial sector.
  • Familiarity with payroll systems, timekeeping software, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Good understanding of payroll compliance requirements and employment laws.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and across departments.
