About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Payroll Specialist to lead our team in delivering exceptional payroll services. This role is pivotal in overseeing payroll, time and attendance, and award interpretation projects. As a Senior Payroll Officer, you will have previous experience in high-volume payroll environments (5000+ employees) and demonstrate a high degree of comfort in working with payroll systems (Preceda preferred) and time & attendance systems.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the Payroll Manager with weekly payroll functions, including exception checking, running of the payroll, and reporting
  • Taking ownership of testing new releases for our recently implemented time & attendance system
  • Data analysis and report writing
  • Responding to queries, including award interpretation and system advice
  • End of month processing as required
  • Documenting payroll and system-related procedures and checklists as required

About You

As a successful candidate, you will have a sound knowledge of payroll-related legislation, including superannuation, tax, and Fair Work. You will also possess excellent analytical skills, intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel, and experience with documenting payroll procedures.
