Transport Coordinator – Community Services #1

Community Services #1 is seeking to enhance its Community Services team by adding a dedicated Transport Coordinator. This role involves providing safe, adaptable, and dependable transportation within the Canberra Community, aligning with the ACT Government's Community Bus Program.

  • Part-Time position available from Monday to Thursday, operating from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM, based in our Narrabundah Head Office.
  • SCHADS level 3 role: $37.35 – $40.05 per hour plus superannuation, based on skills and experience.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Experience working with vulnerable populations and providing community transportation support.
  • Possesses a valid Light Rigid (LR) driver's license.
  • Holds a current ACT Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) card or is willing to obtain one.
  • Has First Aid, asthma, and anaphylaxis certifications, or is willing to acquire them.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients in boarding and alighting the bus, adhering to best practice work health and safety (WHS) standards.
  • Develop bus routes based on client bookings.
  • Engage with clients to ensure their safety and comfort during transit.
  • Maintain the bus in a clean and well-kept condition.
  • Coordinate vehicle maintenance and service needs in consultation with the line manager.
  • Report any accidents or incidents involving clients or the bus to the line manager promptly.
  • Document services, safety checks, and vehicle maintenance using both technology and paper-based systems in a clear and timely manner.
  • Ensure the privacy and dignity of clients are upheld, with all interactions conducted respectfully.
