Transport Coordinator – Community Services #1
Community Services #1 is seeking to enhance its Community Services team by adding a dedicated Transport Coordinator. The Transport Coordinator will ensure safe, adaptable, and dependable transportation within the Canberra Community, adhering to the ACT Government's Community Bus Program.
- Part-Time role from Monday to Thursday, operating from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
- Position classified under SCHADS level 3: $37.35 – $40.05 per hour, plus superannuation based on qualifications and experience.
We are in search of a candidate who:
- Possesses prior experience working with vulnerable populations and providing transportation assistance within the community.
- Holds a valid Light Rigid (LR) driver's license.
- Has a current ACT Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) card or is willing to obtain one.
- Is certified in First Aid, asthma, and anaphylaxis, or is willing to acquire these certifications.
Key Responsibilities of the Transport Coordinator:
- Assist clients in boarding and disembarking the bus, ensuring compliance with best practice work health and safety (WHS) standards.
- Develop and manage bus routes based on service requests.
- Engage with clients to ensure their safety and comfort throughout the journey.
- Maintain the bus in a clean and well-kept condition.
- Coordinate vehicle maintenance and servicing in collaboration with the line manager.
- Report any incidents or accidents involving clients or the bus to the line manager promptly.
- Document services, safety checks, and vehicle maintenance using both technology and traditional methods in a clear and timely manner.
- Ensure client privacy and dignity are upheld, with all interactions conducted respectfully.
