Transport Coordinator – Community Services #1
Community Services #1 is seeking to enhance its Community Services team by adding a dedicated Transport Coordinator. The Transport Coordinator will ensure safe, adaptable, and dependable transportation within the Canberra Community, aligning with the ACT Government's Community Bus Program.
- Part-Time role from Monday to Thursday, operating between 8:30 AM and 3:00 PM.
- Position classified at SCHADS level 3: $37.35 – $40.05 per hour, plus superannuation based on skills and experience.
Ideal candidates will possess the following qualifications:
- Experience working with vulnerable populations and providing transportation assistance within the community.
- A valid Light Rigid (LR) driver's license is required.
- Current ACT Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) card or willingness to obtain one.
- First aid, asthma, and anaphylaxis certifications, or a willingness to acquire them.
Key Responsibilities of the Transport Coordinator:
- Assist clients with boarding and disembarking the bus, adhering to best practice work health and safety (WHS) standards.
- Design bus routes based on client bookings.
- Engage with clients to ensure their safety and comfort throughout the journey.
- Maintain the bus in a clean and well-kept condition.
- Coordinate vehicle maintenance and service needs in consultation with the line manager.
- Report any incidents or concerns regarding clients or the bus to the line manager promptly.
- Document services, safety checks, and vehicle maintenance using both digital and paper-based systems in a clear and timely manner.
- Uphold client privacy and dignity, ensuring all interactions are respectful.
