About the Role

This is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our outdoor cinema. As Venue Manager, you will lead a team of approximately 60 crew members and be accountable for delivering exceptional guest experiences.


Key Responsibilities
  • Manage site set-up and pack-down procedures to ensure seamless execution
  • Coordinate season bump-in and bump-out schedules, including production planning and logistics
  • Lead and motivate a diverse team of crew members, working closely with the Assistant Venue Manager
  • Recruit, train, and develop staff to achieve optimal performance
  • Oversee food and beverage operations, including ordering, invoice processing, and stock control
  • Sponsorship activations and contractual deliverables are key aspects of this role, requiring strong attention to detail and commitment to excellence
  • Prepare rosters and manage payroll in accordance with organizational policies
  • A/V operations, including screen and audio setup and content management, are also essential functions of this position
  • Implement management plans and ensure workplace health and safety compliance at all times

Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a management role, preferably in the events or hospitality industry
  • Prior experience in food and beverage and customer service is highly valued
  • Cinema management or event management experience is an advantage, but not essential
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are crucial for success in this role
  • Initiative, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving skills are necessary for managing competing priorities and unexpected challenges
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems, processes, and operational requirements is essential
  • Experience leading and motivating a casual workforce is highly desirable
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and time management skills are critical for effective collaboration and delivery
  • A collaborative approach with a can-do attitude is essential for success in this dynamic environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required, as well as current RSA and valid driver's license
