Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Event Operations Director to join our team. This role will be responsible for planning and executing the delivery of conferences, meetings, weddings, and other special events.

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and organized individual to lead and inspire our event operations team. As Event Operations Director, you will work closely with the Food & Beverage Services Manager and Conference & Events Sales teams to ensure seamless delivery of our guests' and their events' needs.

You will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating the logistics of events, including venue setup, catering, and audiovisual requirements;
  • Working collaboratively with the events sales team to secure new business and grow existing relationships;
  • Leading a team of event coordinators to deliver exceptional customer service and achieve high levels of client satisfaction;
  • Maintaining accurate records and reports of events, including financials and operational data.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong understanding of conference, event, and function operations;
  • Previous leadership experience in hospitality and/or events, with a focus on guest service and team engagement;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders;
  • A true leader who is genuinely passionate about providing exceptional customer service and motivating a team to share this enthusiasm;
  • Computer literate with strong administration skills, and experience in MICROS or Simphony POS applications highly regarded;
  • The ability and flexibility to work across a seven-day rotating roster, including late nights, weekends, and public holidays;
  • Currently hold, or be willing and able to obtain, both Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) and Responsible Management of Licensed Venues (RMLV) certificates.
