Federal Government Sales Manager

About This Role
We are seeking an experienced Regional Sales Manager to join our team in Canberra, Australia. In this critical role, you will be responsible for leading a sales team and driving revenue growth across hardware, software, and services in the Federal Government sector.
Job Description
As a Regional Sales Manager, you will be accountable for achieving bookings and revenue targets while guiding a team of Account Managers and working closely with cross-functional teams. You will formulate and drive a comprehensive focus across the full solution lifecycle, lead all aspects of the region's go-to-market strategy, and maintain strong relationships with key business decision-makers and stakeholders within federal government agencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Hire, Develop, and Retain Top Sales Talent: Attract, develop, and retain top-performing sales talent for the Federal Government territory.
- Develop and Implement Strategies: Create and execute strategies to exceed sales objectives using direct and extended team resources.
- Build and Maintain Relationships: Foster strong relationships with key business decision-makers, influencers, and stakeholders within federal government agencies.
- Pursue New Business Opportunities: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including tenders, contracts, and partnerships.
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and support for sales initiatives.
- Provide Accurate Forecasts: Deliver accurate sales forecasts, pipeline management, and regular reporting on sales performance.
- Stay Informed: Stay up-to-date on industry trends, government policies, and the competitive landscape.
- Represent the Company: Represent the company at industry events to promote solutions and create brand awareness.
- Ensure Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and procedures in the public sector.
Requirements
- Experience: Proven experience in managing a sales team in the technology sector, preferably within the public sector and/or Federal Government accounts.
- Track Record: Consistent track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Understanding: Strong understanding of the Australian public sector procurement process and government contracting.
- Relationships: Established relationships in the Australian Federal government.
Benefits and Compensation
This role offers a highly competitive salary of $AUD 150,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus additional benefits and bonuses.
