About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Management Accountant to oversee daily bookkeeping operations and manage a team of bookkeepers. This maternity cover role may lead to permanent employment for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and mentor a team of bookkeepers to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Oversee day-to-day bookkeeping activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and budgets to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial records to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Implement and maintain effective internal controls and accounting procedures.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors to facilitate audits and tax filings.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies and issues in financial records.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting regulations and best practices.
Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $90,000 - $120,000 per annum, depending on experience. Additional benefits include flexible working arrangements, discounts at 1000s of retailers, career enhancement opportunities, and more.

Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • CA or CPA (desirable but not essential).
  • Experience managing a team of bookkeepers.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., MYOB, Xero).
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
