About the Role:

We are seeking a Peer Support Worker to join our organization, working across all lived experience programs.

This is a part-time 40 hour per week, fixed term 12 month role. The ideal candidate will be responsible for empowering consumers to make their own choices about their treatment and recovery with an emphasis on strengthening their internal resources to move forward.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support individuals to create external links in the community for ongoing support.
  • Assist consumers by ensuring they actively participate in their own identified recovery goals.

Requirements:

  • Lived experience of mental illness is an essential prerequisite for this role.
  • A good understanding of peer support frameworks would be beneficial.
  • Demonstrate compassion and resilience, providing peer support and information to mental health consumers in both inpatient and outpatient service settings.
