Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Peer Support Specialist to join our team at the Gender Clinic.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a specialist team of psychiatrists, psychologists, researchers, and administrative staff to provide client-centred care for transgender and gender diverse individuals.

This permanent position offers flexible working hours from 0.4-0.8 EFT and is based at the Victorian Pride Centre in St Kilda.

As a Peer Support Specialist, you will provide peer support to clients/family/carers as appropriate, assist with access to community services, and engage with our Consumer Advisory Panel and opportunities for engagement with research and quality activities.

To be successful in this role, you will have lived experience of gender incongruence or be a family member/carer of a person experiencing gender incongruence.

You will also have either completed Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work or be willing to complete it with our organization's support.

Eligibility for Level 3 employment requires previous work experience in the field and the capacity to supervise Level 2 workers.
