About Our Initiative

We are seeking a skilled individual to join our team as a Peer Support Specialist. This role offers a unique opportunity for someone with lived experience of spinal cord injury (SCI) to make a positive impact on the lives of others.

The successful candidate will be based at Royal Talbot Rehabilitation Centre and will work closely with individuals who have recently acquired an SCI to support them in achieving their rehabilitation goals.

This is an exciting chance to work collaboratively with other healthcare staff to provide person-centred care and promote community integration.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing one-on-one and group peer support to individuals affected by SCI;
  • Leading a team of volunteers with lived experience of SCI to deliver peer support services;
  • Collaborating with healthcare professionals to develop tailored support plans for individuals.
