Business Development Manager - Energy Storage

Canadian Solar is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join our team. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for driving business growth and developing strategic relationships with customers in the Energy Storage market.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect and understand customer needs, market trends, and input from across organizational leadership to align product strategy and roadmap in the Energy Storage market segment.
  • Identify opportunities, prepare proposals for RFPs, budget, and price negotiations, and post-bid analysis.
  • Develop and engage early adopter customers in testing and launching new Energy Storage products and solutions.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and business plans for product or service improvement, customization, remodeling, and new product/sales/service development.
  • Assess operational issues regarding competitiveness, staying current with trends, innovations, and pricing while staying up-to-date with external and internal developments in the environment for identifying new market segments.
  • Align with internal development and delivery teams or external suppliers to ensure consistency in product and schedule expectations. Conduct and participate in midterm and final product design reviews to assess product quality.
  • Work with field marketing and sales teams to manage product launch processes.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the Energy Storage, Wind, and Solar industries.
  • Proven track record of business development experience.
  • Confident decision-making skills regarding product guidelines, purpose, and completion.
  • Understanding of financial reports, including budgetary guidelines and product expenditures.
  • Entrepreneurial background in sales.
  • Can-do personality, competitive, and driven.
  • Excellent interpersonal relations and demonstrated ability to work with others effectively in teams.
  • High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and proactively without supervision.
  • Excellent organizational, strategic, planning, and implementing skills.
  • Ability to travel as required – expected travel requirement approximately 50-60%.
