Job Description

As a rehabilitation consultant, you will work with individuals to achieve return to health and return to work outcomes. This involves applying clinical knowledge to improve return to work outcomes, partnering with employers and employees to develop injury prevention and workplace education programs, and collaborating with injured workers, employers, medical and allied health professionals.

You will have the opportunity to apply your skills in case management, conduct assessments to support return to health, work and life goals, and provide injury prevention and injury management consultancy services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Case management: manageable caseloads with rehabilitation assistants to alleviate administrative tasks.
  • Apply clinical knowledge to improve return to work outcomes.
  • Partner with employers and employees to develop and implement injury prevention and workplace education programs.
  • Collaborate with injured workers, employers, medical and allied health professionals.
  • Work across various schemes, including workers compensation, compulsory third party, life insurance, Comcare, Department of Veteran's Affairs, and employer-funded injury prevention programs.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in rehabilitation counselling, psychology, social work or occupational therapy.
  • General or provisional AHPRA registration or full ASORC/AASW membership.
  • Previous experience in occupational rehabilitation is highly regarded.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills; ability to engage with clients and stakeholders.
  • Compassion, kindness and empathy.
  • A current QLD driver's license and access to own car with comprehensive insurance are required.
