
Strategic Service Development Specialist

We are seeking a Service Planner to join our team. The role will involve working across the organization to support service planning, ensuring Council services meet current and future community needs while remaining relevant and financially sustainable.
The ideal candidate will have a degree or diploma in business analytics, strategy, planning, or related fields, with relevant experience; or extensive experience in business analytics, continuous improvement, or service planning. They will also possess strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as proficiency with Microsoft 365, PowerApps, and PowerBI.
In this role, you will support the organization in meeting the Local Government Act 2020 service performance principles. You will assist in developing a new approach to service management, including planning, delivery, reviews, improvements, design, and analytics. Additionally, you will provide expert guidance through research and analysis to evaluate Council services.
You will engage with the community to understand service needs and communicate complex information effectively to stakeholders to foster understanding and commitment to service changes. Building strong internal and external stakeholder relationships will be key to promoting efficiency and facilitating project groups, meetings, workshops, and planning sessions to identify customer and stakeholder needs.
Other responsibilities will include contributing to implementing the Integrated Planning and Reporting Framework, assisting in developing organizational documents such as the Service Planning Policy, Council Plan, and Organizational Strategy, maintaining project documentation, and supporting procurement processes and contract management for consultants.
