We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Track Inspector with a background in the rail industry to become a vital part of our Newcastle team. This role involves conducting thorough track inspections, assessing defects, and ensuring certification compliance. The successful candidate will report directly to the Senior Rail Superintendent and will receive competitive compensation, travel allowances, meal provisions, an iPad, and access to a company vehicle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting inspections and providing impartial advice to a variety of clients across local and national projects.
  • Performing track examinations and ensuring proper certification.
  • Coordinating and supervising rail maintenance activities as necessary.

Required Qualifications

  • Current Certificate III in Rail Infrastructure or
  • Certificate II in Rail Infrastructure, supplemented by the following TLI units of competency:
  • TLIB3090 – Check & Repair Track Geometry
  • TLIB3095 – Check & Repair Points & Crossings
  • TLIB3099 – Examine Track Infrastructure
  • TLIB3100 – Visually Inspect Track Infrastructure
  • Current ARTC Protection Officer Level 2 (Lycopodium may provide training for those without current PO2 competency).
  • Work Safely in the Construction Industry Induction (White Card).
  • First Aid Certificate.
  • Demonstrated ability to inspect and evaluate defects, recommending appropriate maintenance actions.
  • Solid understanding of rail industry standards.
  • Capability to work independently and manage time effectively according to schedules and planned tasks.
  • Proficient use of technology in field applications.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality work and maintaining ethical standards.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a practical problem-solving approach.
