About the Role

Lycopodium Infrastructure is a leading Australian consultancy providing asset management, engineering, architectural, and project delivery services to a diverse range of clients nationally and internationally. Our services span multiple industry sectors, including government, transport, energy, utilities, property, buildings, resources infrastructure, defence, and agriculture.

We are currently seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Track Inspector to join our Newcastle-based team. The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking track inspections, defect assessments, and certification, reporting to the Senior Rail Superintendent.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct track examinations and certification to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Provide unbiased and independent advice to clients on rail infrastructure matters.
  • Coordinate and supervise rail maintenance site activities as required.
Requirements
  • Current Certificate III in Rail Infrastructure or Certificate II in Rail Infrastructure with additional TLI units of competency.
  • Current ARTC Protection Officer Level 2 (Lycopodium will consider providing training where the applicant's PO2 competency is not current).
  • Work Safely in the Construction Industry Induction (White Card).
  • First Aid Certificate.
  • Proven ability to inspect and assess defects and recommend maintenance scopes to rectify.
  • Fundamental understanding of rail industry standards.
  • Ability to work independently and self-manage time according to rosters and planned work.
  • Sound level of technology and ability to apply in the field.
  • Commitment to producing high-quality work and ethical behavior.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and practical approach to solving problems.
