Calvary Mater Newcastle is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Patient Liaison Officer to join our team. As a valued member of our Day Centre treatment team, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to our nursing staff under the direction of the Nursing Unit Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform administrative functions relevant to the department.
  • Schedule cancer treatment appointments according to patient treatment plans and ensure accuracy.
  • Meet and greet staff, patients, and visitors using a friendly and professional manner.
  • Communicate important issues arising.
  • Assist clinical staff with administrative matters.
  • Ensure telephones are correctly answered, diverted, and voicemails retrieved and actioned.
  • General administration duties as required.
Requirements:
  • Advanced customer service skills, including frontline/reception duties with demonstrated communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated experience and a high level of computer literacy in a Windows environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise and process a high volume workload, while maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service and quality improvement.
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology.
