Senior HR Business Partner Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Human Resources Business Partner to contribute to the strategic direction and operational capability of our department.

This role involves providing expert HR advice and services across a wide range of complex employee and industrial relations matters, while supporting key organisational change and workforce initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing strong partnerships with business areas to understand operational needs and deliver tailored HR solutions.
  • Providing high-level, evidence-based advice on employee relations, case management, performance issues, workforce planning, and change management.
  • Interpreting and applying public sector legislation, directives, industrial instruments, and policies.
  • Managing and contributing to strategic people projects and the development/review of HR policies and procedures.
  • Representing the department in external industrial forums and preparing expert documentation for commissions and tribunals.
  • Supporting workforce planning efforts and contributing to leadership development and succession initiatives.

The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of employment and industrial relations in the Queensland public sector, experience in managing complex and sensitive HR matters, strong stakeholder engagement skills, and an understanding of workforce data and its application to HR strategy.
