As we continue to expand our operations nationally and internationally, we are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team.

About The Role

The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for managing the company's accounts payable process using Xero software. The ideal candidate will ensure that all invoices are processed accurately and in a timely manner, maintain vendor relationships, and assist with various accounting tasks to support the finance team. This position offers a 9-day fortnight schedule, with a rostered day off (RDO) every second Friday, along with the flexibility to work from home on the Fridays when you are scheduled to work.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Process and enter invoices into Xero accurately and promptly.
  2. Verify and reconcile invoices and statements.
  3. Manage the accounts payable inbox and respond to vendor inquiries.
  4. Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments.
  5. Ensure compliance with company policies and financial procedures.
  6. Reconcile accounts payable transactions.
  7. Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date.
  8. Maintain vendor files and manage relationships with vendors.
  9. Assist with month-end closing processes.
  10. Support the finance team with additional accounting tasks as needed.

About You

  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred but not essential).
  2. Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist or similar role.
  3. Proficiency in using Xero software is a must.
  4. Strong understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles.
  5. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  6. Strong organizational and time management skills.
  7. Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
  8. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  9. Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
