Energy Forecaster Role

This role involves working closely with weather providers and control rooms to translate weather risks into system impacts, ensuring operators have the necessary information.

The energy forecaster will be responsible for managing forecasting models, coordinating tools and data between markets, and contributing insights into operational advisories and market reports.

Tertiary qualifications in science, engineering or a related field are essential, along with experience in the energy sector and strong communication skills.

Additionally, a working knowledge of data analysis and statistical modelling techniques is required, including PowerBI and Excel.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage forecasting models for electricity demand, rooftop PV and other renewable sources.
  • Work closely with weather providers to ensure accurate forecasts.
  • Coordinate across teams to align tools and data.
  • Contribute insights into operational advisories and market reports.
Requirements:
