Job Title: Energy Forecasting Analyst
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Energy Forecasting Analyst to join our team. As an Energy Forecasting Analyst, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and improving forecast models for electricity demand, distributed photovoltaics (PV), and renewable energy generation in the National Electricity Market (NEM) and Wholesale Electricity Market (WEM).
About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to work on short-term forecasts that feed into key operational and market systems in the NEM and WEM. Your expertise in data analysis and statistical modeling tools such as PowerBI, Databricks, SQL, and Excel will be essential in delivering high-quality forecasts and insights.
You will work collaboratively across multiple projects with various stakeholders, including weather providers and control rooms. Your ability to communicate complex technical information effectively to non-technical stakeholders will be highly valued.
The successful candidate will have tertiary qualifications in science, engineering, mathematics, meteorology, or a related field, as well as experience in the energy sector or similar. A strong understanding of forecasting practices and procedures is also required.

- Experience in the energy sector or similar, preferably in forecasting or analytical roles.
- Strong communication skills, with experience preparing reports and presentations for diverse stakeholders.
- Knowledge of data analysis and statistical modeling tools such as PowerBI, Databricks, SQL, and Excel.
