Job Title: Health Safety Expert

The role of a Health Safety Expert is pivotal in ensuring the well-being and safety of personnel on site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Compliance & Risk Management.
  • Providing support across various sites and facilitating subcontractor engagement.
  • Ensuring overall compliance with HSE regulations, conducting regular site inspections, identifying and mitigating hazards, implementing risk controls, and supporting incident reporting and investigations.
  • Delivering comprehensive site and new employee inductions, assisting in developing and supporting subcontractors with safety documentation and training.
  • Assisting Site Managers with subcontractor compliance, site presentation standards, and maintaining adequate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) supplies.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of HSE systems, managing HSE documentation, supporting software integration, and assisting in producing reports and communications.
  • Promoting ongoing improvements in safety processes.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (WHS) or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the commercial construction industry - Essential.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian Health, Safety, and Environment regulations and standards.
  • Proven ability to conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence all levels of the organization.
  • Current driver's license and willingness to travel to various sites within the region.
