Workplace Health and Safety Professional

The Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) professional will play a key role in promoting a culture of safety and wellbeing within the organisation. This will involve actively influencing internal stakeholders to drive health and safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.

The Role

The WHS professional will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining the WHS capability across the organisation. This will include providing specialist advice and support to ensure that policies, procedures and guidelines are up-to-date and effective.

The Duties

- Provide expert advice and recommendations on WHS matters.
- Conduct risk assessments and inspections to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
- Develop and implement training programs to promote health and safety awareness and skills among employees.
- Monitor and report on WHS performance and provide insights to inform future strategy and improvements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to build WHS capability and progress health and safety strategy.

Required Skills and Qualifications

- Strong experience in a similar role and tertiary qualification in Work Health and Safety or related field.
- Comprehensive understanding of WHS legislation and regulations and ability to apply this knowledge in practice.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to influence and collaborate with internal stakeholders.
