About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Transportation Planner to join our team at Stantec Consulting International Ltd. in QLD to work on a range of exciting projects in transportation planning and advisory services. As a Transportation Planner, you will be responsible for undertaking a variety of tasks, including problem-solving, innovation, information analysis, report writing, and client engagement and liaison.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with some of the foremost traffic and transportation experts in Australia. Your role will also involve working across disciplines within our transportation team, including engineering, design, and analytics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct site inspections and gather information on parking controls, road widths, location of services, parking facilities, and other features.
  • Plan, supervise, and conduct traffic and parking surveys, including work on weekends and after hours as required.
  • Prepare and administer questionnaires.
  • Analyze traffic and parking data using Excel, Sidra, and simulation models.
  • Assess and design road, intersection, and parking layouts, including spaces, aisles, and grades.
  • Prepare draft reports and other correspondence as directed.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in Transport and/or Urban Planning.
  • Proven experience in transportation planning.
  • Ability to engage effectively, be hands-on, and driven to deliver, especially on government projects.
  • Ability to describe complex transportation issues in an easy-to-understand and presentable manner.
  • Desire to work across multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in data extraction, evaluation, and analysis.
  • GIS skills (ArcGIS) (desirable).
