About the Role

Lorna Jane Pty is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Junior Merchandise Planner to join our Production & Buy team in Brisbane.

The Junior Merchandise Planner will play a key role in supporting the buying and forecasting for Lorna Jane's Essentials product line and our large wholesale accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the selection and purchasing of the Essentials product line, ensuring alignment with brand standards and customer preferences.
  • Collaborate with the Merchandise Planner to develop and execute buying strategies that maximize sales and profitability.
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance, adjusting buys and inventory levels as needed to meet business objectives.
  • Forecast product demand for large wholesale accounts, ensuring adequate stock levels to meet customer needs.
  • Partner with the Sales and Planning teams to provide accurate sales forecasts and inventory recommendations.
  • Analyze wholesale sales data and trends to inform future buys and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Monitor inventory levels and work with the planning team to manage stock replenishment and allocations.
  • Identify and resolve inventory discrepancies and work to minimize stockouts and overstock situations.
  • Participate in the development and execution of markdown and promotional strategies.
  • Maintain stock levels and forecast inventory needs while maintaining open to buy and working within allocated budget.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of products and negotiating favorable terms.
  • Generate and maintain reports on sales performance, inventory levels, and other key metrics.

Requirements:

  • Experience in an administrative role in a retail business.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Experience with vendor contract negotiations is highly desirable.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Strong analytical ability.
  • Results-oriented.
