Job Description:

We are seeking a pro-active, enthusiastic Strategic Planning Specialist who has the ability to undertake allocated tasks within the Strategic Planning Branch.

An understanding of strategic planning principles and relevant legislation is required in implementing our Strategic Planning Program.

A commitment to good quality customer service and consultation with government authorities, applicants and the public is required to ensure that we meet the needs and expectations of the community.

The ability to work independently and within a team environment is critical to the success of this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare environmental planning studies, planning instruments, development control plans, codes and policies
  • Sign Planning Certificates prepared in accordance with Section 10.7 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act, 1979
  • Assess development applications and provide advice on referred development applications in a timely and professional manner

Requirements:

We require an applicant with completed a Town Planning Degree and an interest in land use planning, understanding of environmental planning and Local Government legislation and good written and oral communication skills.
