To deliver exceptional support and enable individuals to achieve their goals, we are seeking a dedicated Social Inclusion Support Worker.
This is an excellent opportunity for students studying psychology, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, social work, education, youth work, community services, speech pathology, or health science to gain on-the-job experience and develop valuable skills.
Role OverviewAs a Social Inclusion Support Worker, you will provide tailored support to young people with disabilities, empowering them to participate in mainstream activities and build essential life-skills.
You will be working one-on-one with clients, fostering meaningful relationships and supporting them to achieve their personal growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver individualised support to young people with disabilities in various settings, including community groups, schools, and other locations.
- Assist clients to develop skills and strategies for independence, such as time management, self-care, and emotional expression.
- Engage with clients in activities that promote social interaction, communication, and community participation.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including allied health professionals, to ensure comprehensive support for clients.
- Maintain accurate records of client progress and develop tailored plans to address individual needs.
- Relevant study or experience in disability support, allied health, or social work.
- Valid NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, employee Working with Children Check, COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate, and International Police Check (if required).
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificates (HLTAID011) and a current Driver Licence with access to an insured motor vehicle.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including before and after school, weekends, and school holidays.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on building positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
