Disability Support Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our community team as a Disability Day Service Practitioner.

About the Opportunity

This exciting role offers the chance to make a positive impact in the lives of individuals with disabilities, empowering them to reach their full potential while engaging in skill-building activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support to clients in adventure-based learning, promoting physical health and communication skills.
  • Assist with daily tasks, including personal care, hygiene, and meal support, to ensure the well-being of clients.
  • Promote community inclusion by identifying and facilitating engagement opportunities based on client interests.
  • Encourage client participation in community activities, with support ratios ranging from 1:1 to 1:4, fostering teamwork and self-confidence.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills, particularly when interacting with individuals with varying abilities.
  • A strong understanding of supporting clients with disabilities and active supports.
  • The ability to maintain and update programs, file notes, and documents efficiently.
  • Experience working in day centre work and with behaviours of concern.
