Lead a Surgical Ward as a Nurse Unit ManagerWe are seeking an experienced leader to oversee the efficient delivery of evidence-based nursing care.

This is a full-time position with 76 hours per fortnight. As the ideal candidate, you will have a proven track record in nursing leadership and a strong commitment to patient-centred care.

You will be responsible for:

  • Providing operational management of the Medical and Rehabilitation Ward
  • Ensuring high-quality care while managing human, financial, and material resources
  • Actively participating in quality improvement processes and adhering to National Safety & Quality Healthcare Standards (NSQHS) and Workplace Health and Safety protocols
  • Supporting and mentoring less experienced nursing staff and promoting continuous learning and development
  • Ensuring a safe work environment through active management of Workplace Health and Safety concerns

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Current Registration with AHPRA
  • Minimum 3 years previous experience at NUM level or equivalent
  • Experience in the Acute setting
  • Compliance with ACQSHC National standards
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A strong commitment to developing in a management role
  • A commitment to a high standard of clinical and customer-focused care
  • High degree of computer literacy including MS office and various databases
  • Ability to work cohesively within a team environment
  • Proven time management and prioritisation skills
  • Demonstrate a sound knowledge base in labour management
  • Demonstrated HR management experience
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Strong understanding of patient flow
