
Medical Disputes Specialist – CTP Career Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced specialist to manage CTP medical disputes, focusing on aspects like causation, threshold injury and Whole Person Impairment (WPI). The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of legislation, regulations and internal KPIs, driving meaningful outcomes in Common Law claims.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe ideal candidate will be responsible for:
- Identifying and evaluating individual and organisational development needs
- Developing and implementing individual and group learning and development programs
- Expanding and honing our Medical Disputes capability
- Clarifying and managing key stakeholder expectations and allocating appropriate resources to ensure effective outcomes
- Negotiating terms with external providers and ensuring high quality service and delivery
- Ensuring appropriate attention, management and prevention of risk and governance
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- More than 5+ years demonstrated experience in a similar CTP Medical Disputes or Injury Management Specialists role, working within a fast-paced business environment
- Sound medical knowledge, preferably with a background in medical science, physiotherapy, chiropractic, allied health, rehabilitation or similar
- Training and experience in assessing WPI in accordance with AMA 4 and the Psychiatric Impairment Rating Scale (PIRS)
- Experience managing internal and external medical disputes, including drafting applications, replies and submissions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A collaborative approach, supporting Claims Managers to deliver fair, reasonable and sustainable claims decisions
