Job Summary:

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to our Technical Services team at a high-performing coal mine located in the western edge of the Bowen Basin.

As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring and measuring geotechnical hazards, installing and monitoring geotechnical devices, and collaborating with site teams and consultants.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring, measuring, and reporting geotechnical hazards
  • High wall mapping, analysis of dumps, pit wall stability, and rock fall exposure
  • Installation and monitoring of geotechnical devices such as IDS radar, Prisms, and Piezometers
  • Providing design and execution recommendations
  • Reviewing mine designs to ensure compliance with recommendations and updating site plans and procedures

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A tertiary qualification in Geotech Engineering
  • 3 years minimum experience in Open Cut Coal Mining
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • The ability to liaise with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement, logical thinking, problem-solving, and the ability to work independently while maintaining a team focus
  • A QLD Drivers Licence
